Grip it and rip it, NYC style...
So what do you do when your old company offers you a job at half what the lowest rate is? If you're me and you just moved to NY about five days ago, you take the job. Besides, I really like all the people that will be there...
Below are some highlights from an evening I was told to show up an hour late to and never received any other details other than "party at the Fila store"
What ensued was a great party, with cool people and good vibes. and Rza showed up, too. I met a bunch of rad dudes, swapped cards like it was going out of style and got a wee bit claustrophobic once or twice, great job by all, even if you did run out of liquor.

Outside the store...

The reason for the party, Wu-Tang boot release from FILA.

I'm pretty sure this man's name was Reggie Williams. please dont quote me on that.

Yes, people actually dress like this. He's dutch and partied like a true euro.

FILA CEO, Jon Epstein and Wu-Tang's "Power"

Daetwon, from XXL. super cool dude.

UTFO. Another dont quote me...I've never heard of these people...

One more cool kid I've never heard of, the "Kangol Kid"

These dudes can be spotted all over downtown, a whole posse of Kid and Play era throwbacks, proper, complete with the most amazing hair I've ever seen.

CREW.

Rap City? No idea, these girls made the whole circuit conducting what I believe to be interviews...

Great fucking DJ with the party planner sandwich, he played Bucktown. Thank you, sir.

the dude in the red hat will be emailing tomorrow inquiring about his party picture. well, here you are.

I'd like some of what Rza had. funny conversations ensued.

that is a "fully, man"

more of the boot, still no O.G. DC boot, but I've seen worse.

Rzer and Power.

and the group gets bigger...

Paparazzi and the creator of the print on the right.
So, I made a few bucks, I'm never leaving this city after only being here five days, and grabbing the wrong train with a big photo backpack in the pouring rain is a suck.
